This Privacy Policy describes how ShopX ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our application.
1. Camera Permission
ShopX requests access to your device's camera solely for the following purposes:
Scanning QR codes and barcodes to look up products during billing
Scanning QR codes to search products in your inventory
The camera is activated only when you explicitly tap the scan button. We do not capture, store, or transmit any photos or video from your camera. No images are saved to your device or our servers.
2. Information We Collect
ShopX collects and stores the following information to operate the app:
Account information: Phone number used for authentication via OTP
Shop data: Shop name, products, categories, pricing, and inventory levels
Transaction data: Invoices, sales records, stock adjustments, and financial transactions
Staff information: Names and phone numbers of staff members you add to your shop
3. How We Use Your Information
All collected data is used exclusively to provide the ShopX service:
Authenticating your identity and securing your account
Storing and syncing your shop's inventory and sales data across devices
Enabling offline access to your shop data
Generating reports and analytics for your shop
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication), which provides secure cloud storage. Data is also cached locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database for offline functionality.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in
Firestore security rules that restrict access to your shop's data only to authorised members
All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encrypted connections
6. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.
7. Third-Party Services
ShopX uses the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase — Authentication, cloud database, and crash reporting. Firebase Privacy Policy
8. Children's Privacy
ShopX is intended for use by business owners and their staff. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
